Review: Accessorize Brand (Superdrug) Eyeshadows and Lipgloss

I have only tried a few of the products from this brand but I do intend to try some more including the lipsticks and eyeliners.
I bought:
Merged Eyeshadows in Golden Caramel (right) and Molton Copper (middle).
Icon Eyeshadow in 7 - Chocolate Fondant (left).
Lipgloss in Scandal (bottom).
Illusion Nailpolish in Aztec (will review seperately as I have not worn this yet).

Overall I like the look of the brand, the packaging is stylish and follows the Accessorize designs you would see in one of their stores. The packaging looks amazingly like that for a US brand called Hard Candy. Even some of the products types and shades are almost identical. I will try to do a couple of comparisons as i own some of the Hard Candy products.

The Eyeshadows:

(left to right - Golden Caramel, Molton Copper and Chocolate fondant - applied over MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot - my primer)
I was very impressed with these, very soft to apply and have great pigmentation.

Golden Caramel is a light shimmery champagne colour. I use this colour as a highlight and for the inner corners of my eyes when doing brown smokey looks. I'd say the colours tends to pull slightly beige/cool on me. A very wearable colour which is great for daytime and evening wear. This shade has little to no fallout.

Molton Copper is a warm midtoned brown/copper with some golden (possibly bronze) sparkle. This is a great lid colour that looks shimmery rather than glittery on. I do find some of the sparkly bits fallout over my cheeks but I won't mark this down because of that as almost all eyeshadow (including MAC and Estee Lauder) fallout on me. It must be my eyes - I always do my eyes first then face so I can wipe away the excess. I wear this as a daytime shade but I think some may find it too shimmery.

Chocolate Fondant is a deep dark cool toned brown which I use as a crease shade. Again this is shimmery but has no sparkly bits. Unlike the Molton Copper that has some fallout this goes everywhere - really bad fallout - I think you can even see that in the photo. I will have to try another of the Icon shadows to see if it is the shadow or the shade that is so bad. If you tend to do face before eyes I would avoid this one but its fine for me since I have to wipe around my eyes anyway. This completes my basic everyday look.

I would definately recommend giving these a go if you like shimmery eyeshadows with high pigment. They do a huge range of shades and I hope to expand my collection of these.

Lipgloss:

This was the only product out of those I bought that I was disappointed with. In the tube this looks like a lovely soft coral pink creme. Sadly it is completely sheer and gives almost no colour at all to my pigmented lips. Although even if this was strongly pigmented I could not wear this, I think that the company put a whole bottle of flavouring into each tube. The scent, I think, is vanilla but it is so strong, sweet and sickly I can't be sure. The scent actually makes me feel ill. I had planned to do lip swatches of all lip products but I couldn't face putting this near my mouth or nose again so you got a wrist swatch only, sorry.

I will try some more of their products in the coming months - their lipsticks look lovely but I am concerned about scent - think i get just one to start with.

Hope you enjoyed, thanks for looking :)

Just a quick post to say hello :)

Hi all, thought I should introduce myself... I'm Melanie, I'm 22 and currently working in Retail. I have a degree in Forensics and Criminology and I like anything to do with Physics. As I said in the About Me bit - I started this blog in response to buying a new brand. This was Accessorize from Superdrug. I bought 3 eyeshadows and a lipgloss which I shall be reviewing in my next post.
Enjoy

P.s. My weakest subject is English, so please forgive grammer/badly written sentences etc.
